SFDA further implements Anti-Doping Regulations and enhances doping management

The Notice requires promoting the publicity and education of Anti-Doping Regulations; enhancing the supervision on enterprises producing anabolic agents and peptide hormones included in the Prohibited List; implementing a strict access system for wholesalers distributing anabolic agents and peptide hormones and intensifying market supervision; being strict with the approval of the export of anabolic agents and peptide hormones; and enhancing the supervision on the package inserts of drugs containing prohibited substances in the Prohibited List.

The Notice requires that Beijing Drug Administration and Shandong Food and Drug Administration shall organize an inspection on drug retailers in the Olympic games hosting city and the neighboring regions, strictly prohibit the retail of anabolic agents and peptide hormones (except insulin) and ask the drug retailers to clearly indicate in their stores “prohibit the sale of anabolic agents and peptide hormones (except insulin)”. Other provincial food and drug regulatory department shall do well their corresponding supervision work to create a fair competition environment for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
